club officers
The Tualatin Valley Toastmasters (Club #7499) is a local branch of Toastmasters International in Hillsboro, OR. Our mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. Our club offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where you can visit our meetings as a "most welcomed guest" for a number of weeks at no cost. As a guest, you can participate in the short impromptu speeches (called Table Topics), make new friends, and see how you feel about the club.
How Toastmasters Helps
At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice. Meetings usually begin with a short business session which helps members learn basic meeting procedures. Two or three members present speeches based on projects from the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals. Every prepared speaker is assigned an evaluator who points out speech strengths and offers suggestions for improvement. Members are also given the opportunity to present one-to two-minute impromptu speeches during the table topics session. Upon joining a Toastmasters club, each new member receives a variety of manuals and resources on speaking. Members also receive the award-winning magazine "The Toastmaster" monthly, which offers the latest insights on speaking and leadership techniques.

Guests are always welcomed to join our Thursday evening meetings - there is never a cost to visit! If you have questions, or would like more information on some particular aspect of our club, please email us to request more information!
The Tualatin Valley Toastmasters meets every Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at:
